Eknath Shinde originally Thane district से belong करते हैं और Shiv Sena के senior leader रहे हैं. Unhone अपना career Thane Municipal Corporation से start kiya था और gradually state politics में आए.

June 2022 में जो political drama हुआ था Maharashtra में, वो honestly Indian politics का turning point था. Eknath Shinde ने 40+ Shiv Sena MLAs के साथ Uddhav Thackeray government के against revolt कर दिया था.
Matlab यह था कि Maha Vikas Aghadi government – जिसमें Shiv Sena, NCP और Congress थी – completely collapse हो गई. Shinde faction ने BJP के साथ alliance बनाकर new government form की.
