Income Tax Department is leading with maximum 8,420 posts for Inspector and Tax Assistant positions. Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has announced 3,890 vacancies for Preventive Officer and Examiner roles.

Application Timeline and Exam Pattern 2026

Online applications start hone wale hain April 15, 2026 se and last date hai May 14, 2026. Arre haan, correction window bhi milegi May 16-18, 2026 tak for any mistakes.

Tier 1 exam June 28 to July 15, 2026 ke beech conduct hogi. Computer Based Test (CBT) format mein 100 questions honge – 25 each from General Intelligence, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, aur General Awareness. Total time limit 60 minutes with negative marking of 0.50 marks.

Tier 2 exam August 25-30, 2026 mein scheduled hai with four papers – Quantitative Abilities, English Language, Statistics, aur General Studies. Each paper 2 hours ka hoga with 100-200 questions depending on the paper.

Group B posts like Inspector in Income Tax Department start at ₹44,900 basic salary with 7th Pay Commission benefits. Assistant Section Officer positions offer ₹35,400 starting pay with annual increments.

Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata mein posting wale candidates ko House Rent Allowance (HRA) bhi ₹8,000-15,000 monthly milta hai depending on the city classification. Medical benefits, LTC, GPF contributions sab included hain.

Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) ki posts mein additional allowances like risk allowance ₹4,200 monthly aur uniform allowance ₹2,000 annually bhi provide karte hain.

Preparation Strategy for High-Scoring Candidates

Mathematics mein focus karo Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, aur Data Interpretation pe. Previous year analysis dekhe toh 15-18 questions arithmetic se aate hain consistently. Rajesh Kumar from Lucknow scored 186/200 in Tier 1 last year by focusing on speed and accuracy.

English section mein Reading Comprehension carries maximum 5-7 marks, grammar rules like Tenses, Voice, Narration se 8-10 questions expected hain. Vocabulary improvement ke liye daily newspaper reading zaroori hai yaar.
