Delhi Metro just got bigger yaar! The much-awaited Dwarka-Najafgarh corridor finally opened on March 15, 2026, adding 8 new stations to the network. The 12.5 km stretch connects Dwarka Sector 21 to Najafgarh Terminal with a maximum fare of ₹60 – honestly, not bad considering the convenience it brings to West Delhi residents.

Route Details and Station Names

The new line covers some major areas that were desperately waiting for metro connectivity. Starting from Dwarka Sector 21, it passes through Dwarka Sector 23, Palam Extension, Bijwasan, Kapashera Border, Tikri Kalan, Jharoda Kalan, and finally reaches Najafgarh Terminal.

Matlab, ab Najafgarh walon ko Delhi jane ke liye bus ka intezaar nahi karna padega! The travel time from Najafgarh to Rajiv Chowk is now just 45 minutes during peak hours.

Fare Structure and Payment Options

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has kept the fare structure consistent with other lines. Here’s what you’ll pay:

  • Minimum fare: ₹10 (up to 2 km)
  • Medium distance (2-5 km): ₹20
  • Long distance (5-12 km): ₹30-₹50
  • Maximum fare: ₹60 (end-to-end journey)

The best part? All stations now support UPI payments through PhonePe, Paytm, and Google Pay. No more scrambling for exact change, bhai!

Ridership and Impact on Traffic

DMRC expects around 2.5 lakh passengers daily on this new corridor by December 2026. Managing Director Vikas Kumar mentioned during the inauguration that this line will reduce road traffic by approximately 15% on the Najafgarh-Dwarka route.

Arre, anyone who’s traveled on that Najafgarh road knows how congested it gets during office hours. This metro line is literally a blessing for daily commuters working in Gurgaon and central Delhi.

Future Expansion Plans

DMRC isn’t stopping here. Phase V construction for the Janakpuri West to R.K. Ashram Marg line is expected to begin by August 2026, with completion targeted for 2029. The estimated cost is ₹8,500 crores, and it’ll add another 15 stations to the network.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced that the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor will also start trial runs by November 2026. Honestly yaar, Delhi’s metro network is becoming world-class with each passing year.

Mujhe lagta hai this new line will be a game-changer for West Delhi residents. The connectivity was long overdue, and with the reasonable fare structure, it’s definitely going to be popular among students and office-goers alike.
