What Happens After NEET 2026 Results?

Once NTA releases the results, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) takes over for All India Quota seats. This covers 15% seats in government medical colleges and 100% seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, and central universities.

State counselling will be conducted separately by respective state authorities. Maharashtra starts earliest around June 28, 2026, followed by Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and other states.

  • All India Quota: 83,075 MBBS seats across 596 medical colleges
  • State Quota: Varies by state – UP has maximum 11,150 seats
  • Private Colleges: Around 47,000 seats with fees ranging ₹8-25 lakh per year
  • Deemed Universities: 9,900 seats with fees up to ₹50 lakh for complete course

NEET 2026 Cutoff Predictions – Reality Check Time

Based on paper difficulty and expert analysis, here’s the expected cutoff range:

  • General Category: 720-715 marks (reduced from last year’s 720)
  • OBC: 690-685 marks
  • SC: 590-585 marks
  • ST: 575-570 marks
  • General PH: 705-700 marks

Top medical colleges like AIIMS Delhi, JIPMER Puducherry, and Maulana Azad Medical College Delhi will require 715+ marks. Christian Medical College Vellore and Armed Forces Medical College Pune remain highly competitive with similar cutoffs.

Document Preparation – Get Ready Now

Matlab, don’t wait for results to prepare documents. Start collecting these essential papers:

  • Class 10th and 12th marksheets and certificates
  • NEET 2026 admit card and scorecard
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certificate for state quota
  • Aadhaar card and passport size photographs
  • Income certificate for fee concession

Mujhe lagta hai this year’s counselling will be more competitive than 2025. With increasing seats but also rising competition, students need to be smart about college choices. Don’t just aim for government colleges – some private institutions like Kasturba Medical College Manipal and JSS Medical College Mysuru offer excellent education worth considering.
